Being born in a poor family in such a rich Kingdom like Teraz isn’t easy – especially because you’re marginalized. The people in the poor neighborhoods don’t get to experience much in their lives, besides from working for money and food and of course spending time with family. It’s because big towns have such costly fees that we usually live in far-off places, making our living off the ground and animals that surround us. While this was the case for most poor people, luckily, the town where I was born and raised was near a large town, which was at the foot of a big castle. The royal family of Teraz resided there.

Although my family and I don’t frequent that town so much, we happened to be visiting on the best moment we could have chosen to do so. While walking around the main plaza, soldiers opened a path between the multitude of people. One large man walked announcing the queen and king were to go down this path, it was some sort of royal parade happening right before my eyes. I was in awe of the whole thing, something so elaborate for a few people to walk by.

That’s where I saw her: Princess Julianne of thr Teraz Castle. A beauty with long blonde hair, sparkly blue eyed, classy as she walked, attracting views from all over. I also noticed she was an only child. It must be hard being so pressured to be the heiress of an entire kingdom. But, something that was clear as water to me was, I fell in love with the princess. By now, she probably had an arranged marriage with some prince of a far off kingdom. Even if my feelings for the princess were strong, I doomed them before even trying something.

While continuing our walk around the large, over populated town, I found a piece of paper on the floor. There were openings to train to become knights of the kingdom, and training was held inside the castle. I figured this was my choice to be closer to the princess, as well as raise my status as a poor commoner to a knight, or die trying. I took some coins and went to enroll into the knight academy right away.

My parents were of course scared of my decision, but they thought it would do good to me. They did not know I loved the princess, but they rooted for my decision to become a different man. I packed a few things then left to the castle to start training. Everything was more casual than I expected, and I met some other fellas who were of a poor background or town like me, so I did not feel like an outsider. Of course, there were other knights-to-be from the city who believed they were better than everybody else.

And this was the beginning of my adventure for the love of the princess.

That night, after having a dinner bigger than anything else I’ve had until that point, I decided to explore the lower rooms of the castle, the only area we were allowed in outside of training and eating. I was hearing some noise coming from a room at the end of the hallway, so I decided to explore. As I got closer, the noise became louder, and I could make out that it was someone moaning. I took a peek inside the room and I saw something unexpected: the princess was having sex with the leader of the knights.
